Universal Kids Resort Frisco TX — Tickets, Parking, Hotel & Everything Families Need to Know (2026)
A Universal Kids Resort is officially coming to Frisco, Texas. Whether you're a Universal family or a Disney family, this is big news for North Texas — and something every parent in the DFW area needs to know about.
We're a Disney family personally, but I wanted to break down everything that's been announced so far so y'all have it all in one place. I've been covering this on TikTok and the response has been huge — here are my videos:

This isn't a full-scale Universal Studios. The Universal Kids Resort in Frisco is a 32-acre resort designed specifically for younger kids. It features 7 themed lands including Gabby's Dollhouse, Trolls, Shrek, Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Despicable Me. Personally, I think it's best suited for kids around 10 and under.

Parking is not included with your ticket. If you're getting an annual pass, the Silver Annual Pass with Parking ($164.99) includes it — that's $35 more than the base pass. For single-day visitors, expect to pay for parking separately on top of your ticket.
Universal Kids Resort Hotel — King Beds Only in Suites
The resort has a 300-room hotel right next to the park. Here's something families need to know: only the suites have king beds. Standard rooms (Standard Queen, Deluxe Queen, Signature Queen) come with a queen bed and a twin-over-full bunk bed.
If you want a king bed with a separate bedroom, you need to book a family suite. Suites include a king bed in a private bedroom, a queen pullout sofa, and twin-over-twin bunk beds. Rooms sleep 5-6 guests.
Hotel guests get a dedicated park entrance and Early Park Admission — one hour before the park opens.
Things to Know Before You Go to Universal Kids Resort
- Only double stroller rentals — bring your own
- No military discount that I've seen so far
- No local/Frisco resident discount that I've seen either
- It's July in Texas — bring sunscreen, water, and cooling towels
Why Universal Chose Frisco, Texas
Frisco has been growing fast. The PGA headquarters, the Dallas Cowboys practice facility, and the Omni resort are already there. Adding a Universal resort makes Frisco an even bigger draw for families in DFW and beyond.
- Population boom: Frisco and the surrounding cities (Celina, Prosper, McKinney) are some of the fastest-growing in the country
- Family demographic: This area is packed with young families — exactly who Universal is targeting
- Infrastructure: The tollway, 380 expansion, and new roads can handle the traffic
- Tourism draw: This will bring visitors from all over Texas and surrounding states
What This Means for North Texas Families
For families who already live in the area, this could mean a local option instead of flying to Orlando. Season passes, weekend trips, birthday parties — it's worth keeping on your radar.
- Season passes: A local park means you'd actually use them
- No flights needed: Drive instead of spending thousands on an Orlando trip
- Weekend option: Another family activity in DFW
- Property values: A major attraction like this typically helps the surrounding area
I'll share updates as new information comes out. Follow along on TikTok or Instagram if you want to stay in the loop.
